Dodging

Maestro from Metro!!!

Are you looking Popcorn?

I'm, I mean, we are making progress!!

From 3-0, occasionally 3-1 to 3-2, we're improving!!!

I didn't go for the match last week, got a slight headache due to (always) lack of sleep.

But this time we have more team work, and we have better strategies and skills!!

Another game of dodge ball at Cineleisure. Seriously, why wouldn't those tv crews go away?? I don't want to be seen!!!!

Anyway, here's the game.

Maestro from Metro versus Piranhas from KBU (I think).

Eliz was in for first round, with Marcus, Lucas, Aamos, Richard, Guna, and Charles. I was the lousy spokesperson. Not telling you how lousy I was.

First round, we lost. 1-0.

Second round I was in. Brian was in replacing sorry-I-didn't-notice-who-was-that.

Lost again... 2-0. One more and we're out. Noooooooo...

Third round I'm still playing, I think I rather play than to be the lousy spokesperson...

And ah oh shoot. I was the last one, facing four opponents, all guys, big, strong, muscular guys. Not again... T.T We're gonna loose!!!!!!!!! Dodged a few balls. Picked up some, never got to throw properly...

BUT, with LUCK, I caught one ball!!! The ball came straight at me and hit somewhere between my chin and neck and dropped. *OUCH* By instinct, I hugged the ball tightly. Before I knew, I caught a ball, the Maestros were practically roaring in joy!!!!!

Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooot!!!!

Guna ran in immediately while the opponent who shot me was OUT!! He shoot while I supported him by evading and picking balls for him. But I was hit after some time and Guna was left facing three. Amazing Guna evaded all the opponents attack. Now I think of it, the opponents didn't try the stunning Kamikaze although they had the advantage of 3 against 1...

Guna dodged some balls, some narrowly missed him, threw a few times while we the maestros were screaming for support. Slowly, one by one, and with LOTS of luck, Guna defeated all three of them!!!!! YAY!!!!! That was fabulous!!!! Marvellous!!! Incredible!!! Impressive!!!!!! Fantastic!!!

2-1!!!!!

I'm in for the fourth round too. With dunnoe who-were-in-that-time...

Lost track of what happened, all I remember is that Richard, Guna and I were left. They didn't get to try the Kamikaze stunt either. We (well, I was obviously the supporter, girls can shoot, but not very well, the moment the opponent catches your pitifully weak ball you're out) hit a few opponents out, but Richard was out half-way, leaving Guna and me. Still supporting Guna, the last opponent was OUT when the referee blew his whistle and pierced our ears!!!!!!

Last round, I'm still in.

A very intensive match.

2-2

The final round that determines both teams' fates.

It started off in silence, both sides waited impatiently for the opponents to start the attack. Silence stretched between both teams, excitement and anticipation were suffocating the court, and team members exchanged nervous glances with each other while holding their breaths and staying alert at the same moment.

For a split second, (I think) the Maestros moved and shoot at the Piranhas. Balls were flying in every direction, we dashed, fell, jumped, twisted to evade. As usual, our team members decreased as the clock ticks on.

Finally, it was Guna and me left, facing one opponent. We're winning, we thought, our spirits burned with thrill and hope. But then the wonderful Guna was out...

OH SHIT.

Why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why, why,
am I the last one again?

I DON'T WANT TO BE THE LAST ONE!!!!!!!

Some more that guy in front so big la.... Aaaaaahhh no la... Dun wan la.... no no no no no no no....

If only, if only I could catch another ball... But it won't this easy this time, not when they have the experience of letting me to catch a ball.

I guessed the guys were very, very, very high spirited, and the thought of me catching another ball to get Guna back to the battlefield and the fear of losing was burning every inch of them, striking their nerves like lightning and possessing them.

We were so close to winning, just hit that guy or catch his ball...

However, the biggest problem was the Maestro were trying to tell me what to do. Seriously, all I could vaguely hear was 'roll the ball', or... was it 'throw the ball'?

I had no idea what to do. I don't get why the opponent was rolling the ball at me. Worse, the boys were gesturing at me. About what? Don't ask me, no idea. They were swinging their arms upwards, some downwards, imitating the move of (from my pov) rolling the ball, their mouths moved so fast and there were so many faces!!!!

LOL

What did I do? I inched towards the left side where the Maestros were, desperately catching every sound they made.

At first I rolled the ball, with no idea was it the correct way or not. The BIG, TALL MUSCLE guy shoot me with some balls, I dodged. Then, for dunnoe what reason, I was given the impression of I should roll the ball again... I think, that move wasn't right when the referee and the big guy stared at me, looking taken aback...

A few balls flew again and I was out.

Aaaaaaawwwww...

We nearly won a match...

Victory was so close that I could sense its blissful aura and smell its triumphant scent...

We exchanged handshakes with the opponents, some gave me words of acknowledgement, which lifted my spirit a bit.

We were interviewed again. Why the freaking hell do they have to give an interview every match....

We were definitely better this time. Although Marcus tried to tell the tv crews that he's from China (sorry, no one asks for it), we didn't fool around that much and it wasn't that awkward like last time.

Little by little, bit by bit, we last longer for every match and we win more rounds. I say, if we continue to improve with this pace, and if we are to face some 'noobs' team (sorry for saying that) the next match, there's a very high chance we can win.

From a scratchy team where people stare at us with some hint of scorn in their glares to a team which we're starting to gain supporters from outsiders, I say we have to be proud of our small but significant achievement.

Bit by bit,
Little by little,
I dare to say that,
we're definitely progressing!!
